Teacher of History - Jan 2021 start

This Ofsted good school based in Central Kent seek a History teacher. Humanities generalists could apply and could be supported to train to operate in a History specialist role. The role will start in January 2021 (or sooner for the right candidate) and could be offered on either a temporary or permanent basis.

History is taught at KS3 and KS4 at the school. Recent GCSE results have been good and the humanities department as a whole is considered one of the strongest in the school. Leadership from SLT and HOD is very good, always offering support to combat curriculum and behaviour challenges.

This good and still improving school require a candidate in History. The successful teacher will teach KS3 and KS4 and be offered the opportunity to take responsibility over time. All teachers at this school are expected to teach engaging lessons using a range of media and technology ensuring maximum access by a mixed ability class. While student's ability will range, all are encouraged to achieve their maximum potential. Intervention specialists are in place to support when needed.

Outstanding teaching in KS3 and KS4 History
The aspiration to be a future middle or senior leader
Ability to teach mixed and high ability classes
Innovative teaching style
Willingness to embrace new teaching technologies
