Obart Pumps, based in Maidstone, Kent, is an importer and UK distributor of electric and engine driven water pumps, control panels and pump accessory products.
We have a full-time permanent vacancy for a Warehouse Operative. Reporting to the Supply Chain & Operations Manager, this role will deliver experience across all parts within the Warehouse including Picking, Packing, Despatch, Workshop and Stock Control. This person will have the desire to learn about our Company, Products and Systems, and to develop and earn more money with us.
Start date: ASAP
Training will be provided for all the below including obtaining Fork Lift Truck & Scissor Lift certification, previous experience an advantage.
Duties to include:
Despatching Goods – picking and packing stock items, labelling and palletising stock.
Movement of Goods – Loading and unloading delivery vehicles with Forklift Truck.
Goods In – Booking In of deliveries including inspection and quality control, internal stock movements, prepping goods for warehouse storage.
Inventory – Assisting the Inventory Controller to include weekly stock takes and stock queries.
Workshop – Basic fitting of components and custom builds.
Engraving – using an automated machine to engrave directly onto pumps and steel plates.
General Duties – Any other ad-hoc duties.
Physically and mentally fit due to the nature of our products.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Honest, reliable and dedicated with a strong teamwork ethic.
Clear understanding and appreciation of health and safety procedures.
Prioritisation and organisation.
Problem solving and pro-active attitude.
Maths and English GCSE (C or grade 5 and above)
Advantage to your application:
Forklift Truck certificate.
Workshop, Electrician or Maintenance type background.
Salary & Benefits:
£20,000 to £23,000 per annum depending on experience and if a FLT certificate is held.
Workplace Pension Scheme (5% Employee, 3% Employer Contribution)
25 days Annual Holiday + 8 days Statutory Holidays
Working Hours: 8am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (possible overtime available)
