Business Development Manager / Account Manager

Birchington, Kent

Full time - permanent vacancy

£19,000 basic with OTE £35k

20 days holiday plus bank holidays

My client a rapidly expanding recycling centre in the heart of East Kent are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager/Account Manager on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this ambitious Business Development Manager will be joining us to help cover the South East of England.

Duties and responsibilities:

* Grow the business and identify new opportunities in advance of the competition.
* Generate new business and achieve financial growth.
* Handle inbound phone calls from current customers and manage and retain accounts.
* Focus on generating and retaining new business through outbound calls and sales meetings.
* Arrange and attend external meetings.
* Ability to leverage the company's position within established sectors.
* Build, maintain and manage customer relationships and keep up good communications.
* Purchase material, in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
* Develop/Manage accounts on CRM. Reporting and monitoring through the CRM system to drive daily/weekly targets.
* Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
* Work closely with others in the procurement function.
* Support the overall buying strategy of the company.

Person specification:

* Proven track record of developing and acquiring new clients.
* Proven track record of winning/retaining new business.
* At least 2-4 years as a Business Development Manager / Area Sales Manager.
* Salesperson - target driven, personable, confident, credible, positive, relationship developer, resilient, tenacious.
* Generate new business and achieve financial growth.
* Must be an entrepreneurial self-starter who is open-minded and enthusiastic.
* Excellent written, verbal and communication skills/relationship building.
* Drives success - has a can-do attitude to pursuing goals and seizing opportunities.
* Strategic thinker - able to develop strategies and plans to achieve strategic outcomes.
* Due to the nature of the role, you will require to hold a full UK driving license.
