Cell Technician

My client, a renowned company within the Medical Industry, are looking for a Cell Engineer to join the Crawley based team.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

To organise, monitor and control the undertaking of the Process Cell daily work schedule to best achieve the planned output in the most efficient manner utilising people and processes as appropriate, and to effectively manage a team of Production Operatives and to facilitate the achievement of hourly/daily targets for the completion of the customer schedule in the most cost effective manner.



Key Responsibilities:



* Document control - adherence to policies and procedures
* Batch release/Work Instruction process including first off compliance
* To apply strong leadership, sound judgement and drive continuous improvement to optimise cell performance and ensure product quality compliance
* Accountability and responsibility for the quality of product that is produced within the Cell
* Provide competent and reliable information to team members and colleagues to ensure best practice is followed and that the highest standard of product is produced
* Delivering high standards in cleanliness of production equipment and working areas with the team
* Ensuring that the team has the correct skills, behaviour, development and support
* To be accountable for delivery of exceptional operational results and improvements for the department and the business
* Operator task rotation
* Ensure that Operatives are trained and competency assessed and recorded in line with company standards, procedures and regulatory requirements and that skills and knowledge gaps are identified and corrective action implemented
* Operator performance monitoring and recommendation of corrective action where required
* Liaison with QA to ensure regulatory requirements are adhered to
* Liaison with Production Control and planning
* Liaison with Operations Supervision
* Liaison with other Process Cells (including Stores)
* Effective communication at all levels both verbally and on any written documentation e.g. shift handovers
* Creation and update of WIs (standard operating procedures)
* Lean and CI Champion and facilitating process teams
* As part of an NCR and/or CAPA team the Cell Team Leader will assist any investigations and validation works ensuring the most effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented
* Drive team motivation and employee engagement
* Managing team members' holiday to ensure no negative effect on Production

* Have a keen interest in gaining Technical knowledge of our manufacturing equipment
* Have proven experience in decision making/making recommendations
* Uses own initiative - be proactive shares new ideas
* Be a 'can do' person and rise to the challenge of problem solving
* Taking pride in your work and want to reach the high standards expected
* Experience in working in a fast-paced environment
* Performance driven - used to working to targets



QUALIFICATIONS:

* NVQ Level 3 (Minimum)
* 5 years engineering experience within a manufacturing background
* Pneumatics Training
* Maintenance Training



EXPERIENCE

* Worked within a production environment
* Worked on Process Equipment either setting or fault finding
* Machine Performance criteria



KNOWLEDGE

* Microsoft Package
* Lean Manufacturing
* Continuous Improvement
* PUWER Regulations





Shift: 4 on 4 off days



Location: Crawley



Salary: Competitive
