JOB TITLE:
Befriending Co-ordinator – Reaching Further (6-month fixed term position)
Salary £19-20,000 based on experience, 37.5 hours a week based at Berwick House, Ashford Volunteer Centre

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Establish a Befriending Network for the Borough of Ashford and to work with the existing Befriending Co-ordinator to develop the Ashford Volunteer Centre ‘befriending offer’

WHO THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE TO:
Chief Executive Officer, Ashford Volunteer Centre

MAIN TASKS OF THE JOB:
• Establish and co-ordinate a Befriending Network for the Borough of Ashford
• Create an online database of befriending services across the Borough of Ashford
• Work with the Ashford Volunteer Centre Volunteer Co-ordinator responsible for befriending to develop the Ashford Volunteer Centre ‘befriending offer’
• Ensuring that the action plan and KPIs for this position are successfully completed.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

• Passion for social inclusion, partnership working and volunteering
• Excellent communicator – including ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people by phone, email and face to face
• Solution-focused
• Excellent organisational skills
• Able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload
• Excellent time management skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Proficient in Microsoft 365/Office
• Experience of supporting volunteers essential
• Previous experience of facilitating groups essential
• Full diving licence and access to the use of a car essential
• Role is subject to a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (known as a DBS check)
