The role will be varied and involve electrical design activities in several different fields on engineering. Whilst our current client base is focused heavily on mobile telecommunications infrastructure, we are also working in other fast-paced technology sectors, including Digital Media & Advertising, Utilities and Renewables.
The primary part of the role will involve the design of electrical solutions for various sites. Taking information gained from a site survey, the Engineer will then produce a design that can be used by our CAD Technicians to complete working drawings that will be used for obtaining planning approval and (once approved) detailed construction drawings. The electrical design will include cables sizing (with calculations), Low Voltage Design (230/415V AC and 48V DC), Circuit Breaker ratings, HVAC (Cooling Solutions), Surge Protection Devices and Lightning Protection. The Engineer will also need to ensure compliance of design with client specifications as well as all relevant standards such as the Wiring Regulations. Electrical design software will also be used to complete these tasks. Site surveying will also form part of the role – specifically where the site visit requires a complex electrical design solution.
Suitable Candidates
The role is based within one of Harlequin’s office however with offices and clients across the UK there will be the opportunity and requirement for some travel. Therefore, a driving license is a requirement and access to a car is preferred but not essential. The candidate will be expected to manage their workload across different projects, have a desire to succeed and be ready to produce exceptional results for demanding clients.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good written & verbal communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• Able to work well in a team
• Ability to work under pressure and achieve targets
• Able to deal with continuous change
• Full driving licence
• Car owner – preferred but not essential
