This consultancy has been established for over 5 decades and operate across multiple offices within the UK. They partner with the public sector within social housing, education, central and local government as well as within the private sector. Projects range from new build, refurbishment and maintenance programmes.

Due to projects being put on hold over the lockdown period and the subsequent restrictions being lifted, they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their South London location, the successful candidate will be overseeing a range of projects across London and the South East.

This company are not unique in what they do, but they give their staff the autonomy to work and the tools with systems, flexible working arrangements, and access to experienced leaders to do their job. There is clear progression for any level of staff to attain Partner or more Senior level through subsidised further education, professional training and the Partners have significant success of getting their staff through APC and becoming Chartered.

Flexible working arrangements are also promoted within the business, working from home and working from other offices are all encouraged, as long as the work is done. Especially in the current climate where social distancing can be difficult to maintain an office environment.

Your new role

In the role of the Quantity Surveyor, you will be performing the following duties; managing the QS aspects of complex schemes from inception to completion including cost control, planning, forecasting, estimation and agreement of the final account , managing on-going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work , feasibility studies and early stage cost advice and cost management , reporting on the financial position of projects to clients, contract administration and employer's agent roles, procuring and tendering of work to contractors and analysing completed work and arranging payment to contractors.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be considered for this role you will need to have the following qualifications, skills and experience; MRICS membership, experience in housing, leisure and education sectors of the construction industry, computer literate; effective report writing and the ability to converse with a diverse range of people at all levels, attention to detail and a methodical approach to work and ability to negotiate and manage Client expectations

What you'll get in return

As part of the package for this role, you can expect a salary of up to £55k along with a 25 days holiday + bank holidays which goes up after 2+ years' service, professional fees paid for, pension options. Flexible working arrangements and the ability to work from home is also available.
