Are you diligent with an eye for detail? Are you a proactive team player with Commercial experience? We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor (QS) to work on our EDF Framework in Dungeness, Kent.

The Quantity Surveyor will have worked in a multi discipline organisation, be able to work to tight deadlines within a highly regulated environment with relevant commercial and procurement experience within similar industry sectors.

Costain helps to improve people’s lives by deploying technology-based engineering solutions to meet urgent national needs across the UK’s energy, water and transportation infrastructures. Costain supports Energy Nuclear Generation to maximise the lifespan of its eight UK nuclear power stations. Costain's role is to provide project controls and commercial managed services to portfolios and programmes of work across all of EDF's eight UK nuclear power stations. As part of this work Costain will develop people capability in core project control skills and provide specialist support to EDF's Central Technical Organisation to improve project performance and deliver cost efficiencies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quantity surveying support to the EDF Energy Generation work portfolio. The main focus will be to work with the Project team to assist in maintaining the commercial health and resourcing (by suppliers) for the portfolio of work. You will also assist in developing, promoting and maintaining a commercial capability for all projects through effective mobilisation of various EDF Energy Generation, Contractor and Supplier resources.

Ideally, you will have Nuclear experience and have a good multi discipline pre / post contract commercial knowledge & experience, (although not essential).

Experience:
Proven project and commercial management success
An analytical bias with the ability to provide solutions to issues
Well versed in modern commercial management techniques within complex, multi-functional organisations/ project environments
Understanding of commercial, contractual and financial project drivers
Understanding of commercial contracting strategies within an engineering environment
An understanding of delivery techniques in regulated markets

Qualifications

Minimum of HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
Professional membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. RICS)
MACostE desirable
