Compliance Officer City to £40,000
The Compliance Officer role is to manage the day-to-day compliance activity. The position is to help enable the Board of Directors, management and employees to be compliant with the rules and regulations of the industry. The role includes assisting in the development and updating of company policies and procedures and monitoring their application, so behaviour in the organisation meets the relevant regulators' and companies' standards. Reporting to the Director responsible for Compliance (currently the Finance Director), the Compliance Officer will act in an advisory role as to current compliance issues and help set the agenda for the companies' priorities in this area.
The duties are to include:
ï·Promoting best practice standards for regulatory compliance. To be responsible for establishing and operating a compliance framework
ï·Provide appropriate management information and analysis to the relevant Board to discharge their obligations for compliance oversight. This will include assisting in preparing agendas for and presentations at relevant boards and committees, include reports if and when necessary.
ï·Review annually, or more frequently if required, or, where necessary, draft for the first time appropriate and effective compliance policies and procedures.
ï·Minutes taking for the Board and ensuring compliance with relevant Companies House requirements.
ï·Oversee compliance with conduct risk requirements, ensuring that appropriate monitoring, management information, training and other controls are in place and effective.
ï·Provide support to the business by responding to compliance queries and changes in regulation.
ï·Manage sanctions compliance and maintain screening applications.
ï·Providing Staff training on relevant compliance regulations and matters, as well as record any training undertaken
ï·Maintain the registers of approved brokers and underwriters, dealing with TOBA wordings and applying due diligence to new approvals and reviews when advised.
ï·File complaints from Customers, Loss Adjusters and Insurers in line with the relevant complaints' procedures.
ï·Deal with internal and external compliance queries, including binder renewal compliance, from Lloyd's London, Lloyd's Brussels, Coverholders, Managing Agents, Market Associations
ï·Supervising of Lloyds compliance requirements for coverholders.
ï·Carry out regulatory monitoring in relation to money laundering, client money, sanctions checking, Contract Certainty and Treating Customers Fairly.
ï·Plan, undertake and maintain a compliance monitoring program, ensuring remedial action is taken.
ï·Interaction with regulatory bodies, in particular the FCA and ICO, and reporting information as requested.
ï·In a timely manner comply with reasonable instructions and requests from the Director responsible for Compliance and the Compliance Committee.
ï·Updating Atlas, REG and other external databases.
ï·Oversee and coordinate Lloyds audits for the company and coverholders.
ï·Coordinate monthly managers meetings and produce minutes to be raised to Committee.
ï·Prepare ad hoc presentation and reporting on a regular basis.
