We are looking for an experienced developer to join our team to work across a range of client and in-house web and app projects.

Your primary focus will be to develop and maintain websites and apps with integration into back-end services. This role requires a broad skill set where you will be expected to work across front and backend services using your knowledge of modern development stacks.

We are looking for a dynamic forward-thinking person to fill this exciting role that will involve working on a range of client projects as well as our own service, Map My Tracks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing websites from concept through to completion. Along the way you should be able to:
- communicate with clients on a professional level;
- develop design concepts into completed solutions;
- organise and implement the project to meet the deadline and budget.


Must have skills:
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should:

- Have a BSc/MSc/PhD in Computer Science or related subject;
- Be experienced in using PHP, MySQL, Javascript and HTML;
- Have a full understanding of leading Javascript libraries;
- Have in-depth knowledge of Object Oriented Programming;
- Have experience of using external data sources/APIs;
- Have experience of using source control using GIT;
- Have a genuine interest in developing cutting-edge websites and mobile apps;
- Be able to identify, diagnose and fix custom code;
- Be able to contribute to the team by sharing new ideas and technologies;
- Have a commitment to learning new skills; and
- Have great written and face-to-face communication skills.


Nice to have skills:
You will be an even more perfect fit for the role if you have experience with:

- Developing iOS and Android apps;
- Creating websites using Expression Engine or Word Press.

It goes without saying that the ideal candidate should be highly motivated, able to adapt to a changing environment, flexible and able to work through problems. A passion for cycling, running and the outdoors is an advantage.

This is a permanent position that is available to start immediately based in our office at the Canterbury Innovation Centre in Canterbury.
