We are working alongside a business which has seen a substantial programme of investment, seeing a capacity increase in their operations by 20%.
As part of the development plans, a role of IT Business Solutions Developer has become available. Working within the IT department the purpose of this role is to provide technical expertise in the area of application support and development, analysing business requirements and processes in order to identify and implement added value to the IT services supporting the business and its operations.
Duties will include:
* Support and administer business applications and systems, including associated business intelligence reporting and databases, ensuring they are maintained, developed and retired as required
* Provide fault troubleshooting and resolution for assigned incidents within a timely manner, ensuring incidents are updated in the IT service management tool.
* Effectively deliver all aspects of assigned technology projects, where this involves the commissioning of an application or software.
* Liaise with suppliers of off-the-shelf solutions and identify how the solution will be implemented - which may require interfaces to existing systems
* Identification of development, either in-house or by a third party; define the output requirement; develop the solution using Agile methodology, or monitor third-party development, testing the resultant solution prior to implementation.
* Create and maintain IT system documentation and policy documentation including new systems and the production of user manuals and training the user community.
* Create training programmes for assigned areas of technology, and to deliver these to the department.
* Provide suggestions for any projects or initiatives that would enhance or ensure the continued delivery of IT services, and to submit the appropriate project proposals.
* Liaise and work with third party support companies to ensure that work is delivered, or faults are rectified in a timely manner.
* Work closely with the wider department on projects/task groups, providing timely assistance and support as required.
* Identify opportunities for training to keep technical skill set current and to advance knowledge in other areas of technology. To undertake technical and non-technical training as required.
You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge and experience of C# and JavaScript, web development - including ASP.NET/Core, Javascript, HTML5, CSS and web development framework - ideally Bootstrap. Practical knowledge of Azure and/or MS Office 365 is essential along with Agile development methodology and DevOps practices. In addition, your knowledge will include database administration - SQL or Oracle - integrating with third party systems via APIs and the administration of ERP systems.
You will educated to degree level, or equivalent in a Computer Science discipline.
