Job Title: Asset Information Controller

Our client is looking for someone that demonstrates responsibility and pride in their own performance and that of the team with a positive attitude to work including team working, problem solving, innovation and general flexibility. Someone that has good interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with colleagues, team leaders and managers is a must. You must also be able to demonstrate a good level of initiative and be self-motivated with the ability to think outside of the box and work well under pressure.


Job Purpose and Role

The main purpose of this role is to assist the Team Leader, Asset Management in providing the correct information, at the correct time, to the appropriate people in the right format to make the right asset management decisions on behalf of the client.

This will involve working closely with Project Managers in all engineering disciplines to coordinate the asset information for individual projects into the central asset information database.

The post holder will also provide a wide range of user support and system training functions together with providing the Asset Management Team with a knowledgeable and responsive customer facing contact point.

Duties of the Post Holder
•Will have knowledge and understanding of technical information and the key concepts of asset management, in particular asset information management.
•Will have skills and experience in document management within SharePoint 365 or other document management system, including the planning, managing, maintenance, updating, storage and dissemination of documents.
•Will compile and maintain the client’s maintainable asset management database and data hierarchy on a day to day basis, ensuring all data can be easily found within the system against the asset record.
•Will be responsible for the creation of design and functional objects within the asset hierarchy for all new assets within the asset management system IFS.
•Will be responsible for the creation of all asset activities within every Project in the IFS system as designated by the Project Manager.
•Will be required to produce system training manuals and deliver training to end users.
•Will maintain a strategy and system for managing all hardcopy data.
•Will assist with the maintenance of all asset record data, identify and manage all missing data across the key asset records.
•Will be responsible for the control and audit of all asset information across the AM systems.
•Will champion the introduction and use of our asset management systems and processes and assist with the day-to-day delivery of the overall asset management system.
•Will include frameworks for inspection and maintenance regimes, policy documentation, procedures and guidance notes, training information and training delivery.
•Will play an important role in supporting the Team Leader Asset Management with the delivery of team and personal objectives. Will be expected to be self-managing, target driven, good at problem solving and an all-round team player.
•Will play an integral part in the function of the Asset Team in ensuring that the Board’s assets are provided, maintained and repaired effectively, efficiently and to the appropriate standards of safety.


You must also have the following:
•A-levels
•Relevant work experience in engineering or construction industry dealing with technical information.
•High level of computer literacy with advanced MS Excel skills
•Experience of reading and understanding technical information
•Experience of databases, tables and indexes.
•Experience of document management, particularly in SharePoint 365.
•Knowledge of control of technical engineering asset information.
•Knowledge of operating an asset information system.
•Knowledge of production of user manuals and documentation.
•Good written communication and report writing skills
•Full driving licence.
