Import Clerk - Freight Forwarder (Sea Freight only)

Can you confidently & professionally arrange worldwide LCL and FCL sea freight import shipments?
Do you have customs import entry experience?
Do you have strong operational skills with 3-5 years experience working in imports as a sea import operative?

Our Client is a rapidly, expanding leader in the freight forwarding industry, based near Maidstone in Kent.

We are currently recruiting for an Import Sea Freight Forwarding Clerk to join their busy, friendly team.

Ideally we are looking for someone who has got at least 3-5 years’ solid experience working for a sea freight forwarding company who is currently working in imports as a sea import operative.

You must have strong operational skills with lots of Sea Freight experience.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Arranging worldwide LCL and FCL sea freight shipments
• Booking in deliveries and relevant invoicing
• To deal with the administration of Import bookings
• To speak with shipping lines and customers overseas agents
• To assist all other members of the team when required to do so

You must be highly motivated with excellent customer service skills and have great attention to detail. Customs import entry experience would be an advantage.

You will be the first point of contact for existing and new clients so you must have an excellent telephone manner, with a bubbly and enthusiastic personality.

This is a permanent position and is an immediate start.

Depending on your Import sea freight experience, salary ranges from £23k – £25k p/a

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm
