Team Leader (Sales/Business Development)

An innovative and forward-thinking manufacturer are looking for a Team Leader to take responsibility for their office-based business development team.

The business are a family run organisation and have grown organically to become the leaders in their field offering a niche product range.

The role
Within this role you will be responsible for the office-based sales/business development team. This proactive team are responsible for maintaining relationships with clients, up-selling products, booking appointments, producing quotations and being the point of contact for any client enquiries.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing an office-based business development team and the ability in building strong relationships with customers. You will be a leader who can demonstrate commercial team management success in a high growth sales environment and a desire to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
*Report directly to the manager and support their requirements
*Managing the office-based sales team
*Inspire and lead the development of the team with a leading my example approach
*Coach, train and develop the team members
*Develop and make outgoing sales opportunity calls
*Deliver your own sales and targets
*Ensure processes are followed in accordance with company policy
*Ensure enquiry, quotation and order processing policy is enforced
*Assist HR with any ER cases and day to day operational aspects of the team
*Conduct, with the assistance of HR, appraisals and development plans

Requirements
*Previous experience managing a small office-based sales team
*Have worked in a direct sales capacity previously
*Exposure to a manufacturing business would be advantageous
*Ability to lead and deliver exceptional commercial results from a sales team
*Excellent relationship builder
*Ability to plan, measure and deliver agreed actions on time
*Ability to cover for other team members when on leave or to relieve excessive workloads
*Experience work to tight deadlines and KPI's
*Be a proactive forward thinker with a can-do attitude
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Hours of work are Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm.
