Our client are a Garden Centre based in Knockholt in Kent who are looking for someone who has a Forklift licence who can assist around the yard moving heavy lifting items including bags of compost, aggregates, fencing etc and can also be flexible & jump on the tills and assist around the shop when needed.                     

Days: 10 day fortnight including alternate weekends and one day off during the week in lieu (TBA)

Hours: 8.30 am - 5.00 pm (in peak periods) Some overtime at the beginning and/or end of the day may be required.

Rate of Pay:          £18000.00 per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic and attentive person to join our shop team, who will also enjoy delivering a high standard of customer service. Smart appearance and confidence are required as the successful applicant will be liaising with customers. There is heavy lifting involved. Horticultural knowledge preferable but not essential as training will be given.



Duties will include:

Offering advice and guidance to our customers regarding shop and gardening products
Particular areas for replenishment are compost, aggregates and fencing departments
Operating an EPOS till system and taking all forms of payment from customers
Completing delivery notes as required
Assisting customers with their purchases including packing and carrying to car if required
Keeping the department clean and tidy at all times
Checking incoming stock and informing of any shortages etc
This role involves heavy lifting, including bags of compost, aggregates, fencing etc although we do have plenty of lifting aids!
Somebody with a forklift licence would be great, or if someone’s licence has expired, we can retrain.

Uniform is provided, own transport arrangements are essential as public transport is not reliable in the area.
