Our Client in Kent is looking to recruit a Assistant Project Manager that comes from a Construction background.
Purpose of the job
On behalf of the company and its clients, support Project Managers with the delivery of complex construction projects in line with time, budget and quality criteria. Establish and manage Project teams to facilitate project implementation, determine priorities and ensure completion to the clients expectations.
If required, assist the Project Manager with providing support and direction to Project Officers.
Work towards undertaking Employers Agent role on appropriate projects
Main duties & responsibilities
1 To use effective project management processes across all projects to assist with the delivery of the planned capital projects. To work effectively in a collaborative management environment, demonstrate leadership within a project team and wider organisational structure to deliver projects on time, on budget and to agreed quality standards.
1 To identify and liaise with key stakeholders on the development of schemes through the relevant approval processes, ensuring that clarity of roles and responsibilities are determined, and that schemes are progressed in line with affordability requirements and overall project timescales. If required by the Project Manager, as the main point of contact in relation to projects for both internal and external stakeholders.
1 To undertake all administrative duties and financial management related to the project. To prepare reports in the required timeframe necessary to obtain approval through governance processes as required. Ability to present project reports to stakeholder groups as required, promoting clear and effective communication and ensuring quality outcomes are delivered.
1 To coordinate, review and manage risks and salient issues. To ensure that risks connected with the delivery of the project are identified alongside strategies and actions to mitigate these risks. Use of Risk and Opportunity Registers must be employed.
1 Works towards the duties of Employers Agent in line with the project outline, including preparation of feasibility, tender and contract documentation, together with management of contractors during the life of a project. Undertake post project reviews and analyse, benchmark and present the results.
1 Manage Change Control processes within the lifecycle of the project to ensure all actions are suitably recorded. Responsibility for managing effective performance review mechanisms to monitor progress and delivery of all projects, including relevant sanction policies. Complete all benchmarking requirements accurately and within required timescales.
1 To represent the company and its clients in negotiations as required to facilitate the completion of the project and to ensure all necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner. To communicate in a confident, authoritative and assertive manner that is in line with established policies practices and priorities of the company and its clients and maintains and enhances its credibility.
The candidate must come from a Construction/property background.
