Finance Assistant Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, role will be based at our Sheerness site, with possible occasional travel to our Sittingbourne site.
Key tasks
Sales Ledger
• Raise sales invoices from factory job sheets/delivery notes and input onto Exchequer accounting system
• Upload invoices onto Invoice Discounting facility website
• Input receipts onto Exchequer accounting system
• Maintain credit control process including sending out customer statements
• Complete and submit Invoice Discounting Reconciliations and related schedules
• Complete credit checks for new customers
Purchase Ledger
• Match delivery notes and purchase orders to supplier invoices and input onto Exchequer accounting system
• Arrange supplier/sub-contractor payment runs
Month End
• Complete bank reconciliations
• Complete petty cash reconciliation
• Complete Emirates Airline contract reconciliation
• Effect timely closure of sales and purchase ledgers
• Accrue and post credit card expenditure
• Submit sales reports to Department Managers
Payroll
• Process monthly payroll including preparation of timesheets for hourly paid employees
Other
• Control monthly credit card and cash expense returns
• Support Finance Manager in
o provision of ad hoc management information as required
o achieving compliance with company’s statutory obligations
o achieving efficient transition to new ERP system
o other tasks as may be required
