Hospitality Operations Supervisor
Weddings, Corporate and Social Events

General
The Historic Dockyard Chatham is a unique and wonderful destination to host an event, with a variety of well-established venues to choose from.

We are looking for a keen, organised and confident individual with bags of energy and enthusiasm to deliver our hospitality events, working with a team to ensure our service is of the highest quality to create the perfect experience for our clients.

Reporting to: The Hospitality Sales & Operations Executive

Areas of responsibility to include:
- Leading a team to deliver excellent and professional client service at all times.
- Client liaison before and on the day of the event, as well as carrying out event set up and breakdown of each event and pre-planning customer requirements in advance of events.
- Working closely with the Sales & Operations Executive in order to deliver client expectation. This will involve working on event plans and some administration duties.
- Generating staff rota’s for all hospitality events at least a month in advance.
- Training and maintaining a high level of service from all of our staff. Implementing and maintaining strict uniform polices.
- Maintaining a high level of Health and Safety practice within all events spaces and kitchen areas as per trust policy.
- Adhering to responsible service of alcohol legislation.
- Bar supervision, ensuring the bar is ready for each event, including the ordering of stock, cellar management and stock take.
- Adhering to cash management rules and cashing up of tills at the end of each event as per trust policy.
- Reaching high KPI targets set for bar spends during event times.
- Work with the Sales & Operations Executive to spot commercial opportunities during events.
- Reporting any maintenance and repairs of any of the venues or equipment being used.
- To be able to assist in all other areas of visitor catering but primary focus to be within the Hospitality events.



Must be able to:
- Work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and daytime.
- Work alone and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate flexibility and have a strong work ethic.
- Show excellent customer care skills with a clear focus of ‘getting it right’ on every occasion.
- Lift and shift furniture in order to set up / breakdown for an event.


Essential:
- Relevant previous experience in an events and hospitality environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Knowledge of current Food and Beverage health and hygiene regulations.
- Full and clean driving licence.
- SIA trained
- Computer skills
- First Aid trained
- Personal licence holder
