Our client, a top not-for-profit organisation in the healthcare sector based in the West End is currently looking to recruit a Public Affairs Adviser on a temporary basis for a period of 3 months for an hourly rate of £30 per hour.

To influence the UK Parliament and other stakeholder audiences to achieve positive outcomes for the nursing profession, and to engage members and staff about the implications for nursing within political and sector developments, and mobilising members and influencers to advocate for nursing staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement strategies for building and maintaining relationships with key influencers, including identifying opportunities to influence stakeholders to achieve priorities and objectives
* Contribute and lead public affairs activity for cross-organisation projects which include the need to influence Parliament, Government and/or to achieve legislative or policy change
* Contribute to the smooth running of the office and team systems
* Manage cross-departmental projects on legislation and lobbying campaigns
* Contribute to the development of department objectives, activity and setting and monitoring of budgets
* Contribute and lead our clients' work to influence political and stakeholder audiences to achieve objectives of the directorate and organisation
* Monitor, analyse and advise on parliamentary, policy and stakeholder activity. Keep abreast of key political and policy developments, and proactively identify opportunities to engage with, and politically influence stakeholders to promote objectives

Person Specification:

* An extremely good understanding of and experience working with/in UK Government and Parliament
* Direct public affairs experience is ideal but not essential
* Excellent communication skill
* Vert strong writing skills on writing letters/email
* Experience in a member-led or campaigning third sector organisation; or health/care related organisation is ideal but not essential
* Self-starter
* IT Skills including using Microsoft Office and Outlook
