In House Property Surveyor

Barker Munro is pleased to be working with this entrepreneurial insurance company based in Kent and are currently going through a period of expansion and are looking to add an In House Property Surveyor to their in house surveying team.

The main focus as Property Surveyor will be to assess damage for buildings insurance claims to determine whether claims should be accepted or rejected and to verify quantum for accepted claims. You will provide technical advice on buildings insurance claims to the claims handling team where you will visit risk addresses and make assessments on site where appropriate. As a property surveyor, you will have strong negotiation skills around building claim costs as well as the ability to liaise with building contractors.

To be considered for the role of Property Surveyor, my client is looking for you to be able to demonstrate various key qualities which will include, but are not limited to, being degree educated or equivalent, with qualifications in a relevant discipline and a minimum HNC/HND qualifications in surveying. A solid background and knowledge as a building/property surveyor within the insurance industry or as a building surveyor. When it comes to systems, if you have knowledge of Xactware that would be highly beneficial.
