XenZone are leading pioneers of online counselling in the UK. XenZone runs the nationally recognised and award-winning young peoples' counselling, support and advice service called Kooth, which is available online and in some areas, also face-to-face, and the adult version, called Qwell.
Since being founded in 2001 we have helped over 95,000 young people and adults through our online support platforms working with 40+ commissioners across the UK.
Our team is made up of a unique combination of expert mental health therapists, counsellors, skilled managers and IT specialists. Together they deliver and continuously develop our online e-therapy services and face-to-face counselling and support.
As our Integration and Participation Worker you will work with children, young people, adults, professionals and stakeholders in the Kent area on a full time basis (35 hours PW). The successful candidate will deliver presentations, training sessions and group work to small and large audiences, working effectively in networks and with partners to ensure that our Kooth and Qwell services are promoted and embedded as part of local pathways and integrated services.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• To deliver presentations about the KOOTH service to small groups and large audiences including; young people, professionals and other stakeholders.
• To deliver training to youth workers, teachers, and other front line workers on how KOOTH works.
• To market KOOTH to schools, colleges, youth services and other stakeholders.
• Attending local network and partnership meetings, giving feedback on how the KOOTH service is operating and feeding back to the KOOTH Service Manager local issues and agendas regarding the needs of Children and Young People.
• To encourage young people to participate in the design and development of KOOTH services through collating feedback and facilitating focus groups.
• To deliver issue based sessions to groups of young people in school and community settings.
• To deliver training programmes and resilience programmes in schools to teachers and young people around mental health and emotional wellbeing.
• To deliver workshops and small groups with young people who want to be KOOTH Ambassadors.
• Identifying with the commissioners the local authority partners in the area (such as CAMHS, young people’s drug and alcohol teams) and to establish pathways into other services.
• To feedback information regarding local pathways to the KOOTH Service Manager and KOOTH team. Keeping the electronic pathways directory up to date and relevant.
• To have a clear grasp of the agenda driving our customers/commissioners. Feeding this back to the MD, Service Manager and Locality Managers and being part of the team that ensures what we are delivering is effective and relevant.
• To undertake any requests made by the XenZone Management Team which are relevant to the post of Integration and Participation Worker.
• To develop and maintain effective working relationships with services that have contact with young people to ensure awareness of service and engagement of target groups
• To be aware and knowledgeable of the Contracts which exist in each area of the country and be able to assist the Managing Director and Counselling Service Manager in Contract Compliance and to assist in providing information for Commissioners in all areas.
• To take the lead for integration planning and activity in new KOOTH area’s
• To safeguard young people and refer on when appropriate
• To attend team meetings, as required and attend any other meeting requested by XenZone Management
REQUIREMENTS
As this role is predominately home based we require our I&P workers to have a fast and reliable broadband system installed on their home/personal office.
• A relevant professional qualification in youth work, teaching, mental health, counselling, or psychotherapy.
• Experience working with young people (11-18) and adults in face to face settings.
• Evidence of your capability to deliver group work, presentations and training to different types and sizes of audiences.
• Knowledge and understanding of adolescent and adult development, the issues and inequalities they face, and a commitment to improving their emotional well-being.
• Ability to positively, proactively, and professionally communicate and engage with a variety of people in different settings.
• The post requires travel predominately across Kent with occasional travel to our head office in Manchester.
• The above position is subject to a successful Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check as part of recruitment procedures.
