A new role for an Estimator, working for an established main contractor in Kent, paying up to £70k
Your new company
A job has arisen for an Estimator with a leading main contractor specialising in new build, D&B, refurbishment and fit-out works across London, Kent and Sussex. They now require an Estimator to be based in their new Kent office. The types of projects they work on consist of hospitals, universities, care homes, schools and high-end residential works.
With an annual turnover of just over £40m and with project values typically ranging between £500k - £5m, this organisation are very stable and have a long list of works being undertaken and a strong order book for the next 12 months. As a new addition, you will sit in a team of 2 other estimators working on NEC and JCT contracts.
Working with this contractor for many years, they offer a great working environment, work hard play hard environment where directors and senior management are accessible for the benefit of staff engagement. They like to promote from within and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to grow and develop within the business.
Your new role
The role of the Estimator will be to work within the commercial team, the main purpose of the role would include the preparation and return of quantified tenders from specifications and drawings or bill of quantities, the completion of pre-qualification's questionnaires and to attend pre-tender meetings as well as internal handover meetings.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have proven experience within an Estimating role, taking projects from initial enquiry, first principles through to handover, working on projects with contract values of up to but not limited to £5 million. The ideal candidate would have experience of working within a medium to large sized main contractor.
