Position: HR Manager

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (with enhanced holiday)
Our client is a high performing independent school based in East London. The school is set in beautiful surroundings and has over 1,200 pupils.
We are looking to recruit a HR Manager who can take real ownership of the department and drive the school forward in areas such as Safeguarding, Compliance, Policy, Child Protection and Best Practice.
The ideal candidate will come from an Education background, but we are open to those with sound HR experience in other sectors. You will report directly to the Bursar whilst working closely with members of the senior leadership team. The HR Manager will be responsible for line managing the Recruit Administrator.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and its practical application.
- Experience of working in an HR department.
- Knowledge of current safeguarding processes and regulations.
- Educated to degree level or similar.
- IT literate, particularly MS Office.
Desirable
- CIPD qualified.
- Previous experience of managing staff
- Experience of working in a similar sized organisation
- Experience of working in an educational setting.
- Experience of implementing HR policies and procedures.
Salary Package and Hours
- Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum.
- Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.
- Holiday: 30 days holiday plus statutory English public holidays (holiday to be taken during the School holiday by agreement). Additional holiday entitlement may be available by negotiation for the right candidate.
- Free lunches (in the Dining Hall during term time).
- Discounted membership at the nearby Leisure Centre.
