Contracted Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours (Monday-Friday between 8:00am-4:00pm and one week on-call, may include occasional weekends and bank holidays)
Salary: up to £45,000 + on call allowance

Driving License: Essential

What does the role look like?



As part of our team at William Harvey, your role will involve the management of electrical/mechanical sections of the department by delivering an effective and efficient Technical Solutions service, ensuring that appropriate standards are met in relation to statutory, mandatory and HTM regulations. The role is a senior representative of Technical Solutions at site level and will be responsible for maintenance, repairs, projects and lifecycle planning of the relevant discipline managed and will ensure performance is adequately delivered for our Client, the Trust, and demonstrated via various KPIs, SLAs and other deliverables on a monthly basis.


Key responsibilities will include:

As the lead professional in this discipline, the role will be expected to provide sound advice and propose/implement solutions for both 2Gether, the Trust and clinical customers and will be viewed as the expert in this field.

Feeding in to production of and implementing 2gether Support Solutions policies, relating to statutory, mandatory and HTM regulations within the specific disciplines managed for the Technical Solutions Department.

Advising and reporting to the Head of Technical Solutions on Technical Solutions matters and improvement issues, to include longer term planning and finance

Managing work in hazardous areas ensuring staff take all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.

Budget and cost management planning, specification writing, procurement, reporting, help desk management and extensive customer liaison/communication.

Managing all issues related to staffing, resources, discipline and the efficiency of the Technical Solutions section under the role’s responsibility. This shall include managing productivity, sickness, attendance and compliance with the relevant policies, processes and procedures

Take part in an On Call Manager’s rota for emergency issues.

Maintaining records of maintenance and testing/inspections for works, services and equipment in compliance with HTM, HBN and HASAWA.

Be competent in implementing and managing permit to work systems and risk assessments, ensuring compliance across the team.

About you:


The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Hold a City and Guilds//HND or relevant qualification
Qualifications in HTM
Excellent knowledge of statutory requirements
High level computer skills in CAD, BMS and PPM systems
Knowledge of Healthcare guidance HTM’s, HBN’s and other industry specific guidance notes
Recognised training to approved person status for: High & Low Voltage services, Piped Medical Gases, Legionella.
Good communication & leadership skills
Good Numerical & problem solving skills
Previous management experience
