Your new school

Preparatory and state School's in Gravesend and the surrounding areas are looking to recruit several Speech & Language Teaching Assistants for a September start. It is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Speech & Language Teacher to gain first-hand experience supporting Autism (ASD)/ Speech & Language Difficulties and working along a range of professionals. This job is within a friendly, small, independent School who are committed to pursuing a nurturing, safe, happy environment where children are encouraged to achieve their personal optimum. The school have a real partnership with parents and you will be supported fully by staff and parents alike with strong links to the local community.

Your new role

You will be working across EYFS, KS1 & KS2 focusing on Autism and providing 1:1 & group sessions using a range of speech therapy tactics. You will be passionate and driven, who aspires to encourage and help children with Speech & language difficulties develop. Previous experience support Special Educational Needs would be desirable but not essential. You will be working alongside the schools SENCO and other specialist's, previous experience would be desirable and tangible evidence to support this.


What you'll need to succeed

You will need a positive and outgoing personality who is passionate and driven to support children in their learning and adapt the curriculum when necessary for this. You will need QTS and have experience within the classroom for this. An understanding of special educational needs is desirable and any pervious experiences to support this. You would need to be available for September and a full-time role would be ideal however part time is an option.
