Data Protection Officer
Barker Munro Recruitment is working with an expanding insurance business who are currently looking to recruit an experienced Data Protection Officer with extensive experience of FCA regulated environments?
As the new Data Protection Officer you will be the central point of contact and referral for all aspects of Data Protection matters.
Working within the senior leadership team, you will be the subject matter expert for all things data protection within the business. This will include policy development and maintenance, internal training, compliance audits and be the ICO’s contact point.
Role Responsibilities
Daily point of referral for business queries in regards to the protection of personal data
Responsible for creating and maintaining Data Protection policies
Monitoring compliance with the GDPR and other data protection laws
Responsible for GDPR and other data protection laws awareness-raising and training team members
Management of the Data Protection Administrator
Work with IT on privacy and security risks and assessments
Responsible for data privacy
Privacy Policy maintenance
Responsibility for maintenance of Data Processing Agreements
Data Protection contract reviews
Creates reports for Directors or the Board of Data Protection oversight and risks
Bring innovative ideas to the business in regards to protecting customer data
Work closely with the Compliance and Legal team on data protection matters Key Skills
What is required of you and what do you need to be able to demonstrate? Well, good exposure as a Data Protection Officer, with extensive experience of FCA regulated environments, a strong understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018 and, ideally, be CIPPE or CIPPM certified is all you have to show for this exciting opportunity based near Maidstone.
