This is a permanent, full time role which is based in Aylesford, Kent and working 37 hours per week.

Main Purpose of Job:

The Marketing Manager will provide vision and leadership for the strategic development of RBLI’s 10 year strategy to establish itself as a leader in its field, in particular through leading RBLI’s influence campaigns and advocacy activity across all of its divisions.

You will need to be self-driven to capitalise on the current policy positions and identify new avenues and partnerships so that we can make the most of our influencing of key opinion leaders and the supporting the sectors we work with to achieve the change we want to see and to underpin our growth strategy.

You will lead on our marketing campaigns and messaging and will establish opportunities to influence key business leaders, grants and funders and government programmes. You will lead the public affairs and advocacy campaigns, designing and delivering an influencing and reputation management programme that will raise RBLI’s profile nationally and improve understanding of our work with key stakeholders. In addition to analysing emerging public policy risks and opportunities, you’ll co-ordinate public positioning and messaging and lead on raising RBLI profile and improved engagement with stakeholders across the UK.

You will have a broad range of expertise covering all key aspects of the role and will be highly organised with an entrepreneurial flair for developing high quality marketing campaigns. Your work will include developing content of annual/social impact reports, fundraising/award application to further our reputation with key stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Strategy:
•Play a key role in the development and implementation of RBLI’s growth strategy – Improving Lives Every Day.
•Contribute to the development of the organisation’s influence campaign, developing key campaigns to further our profile in our targeted markets, to include employment, disability, social enterprise and the military sector.
•Support RBLI innovative practices with to contribute to the future growth of the organisation.
•Make recommendations for organisation award submissions, key note speaker events and organisational positioning to further its reputation and profile across our growth sectors.

Marketing:
•Liaise and build relationships with internal and external customers to support all stakeholder relations activity.
•Contribute towards the planning and development of the marketing department to drive forward agreed Company objectives.
•Oversee and develop marketing campaigns across all areas of the organisation using RBLI key influence campaigns as the driver.
•Proactively provide strategic marketing advice and support to RBLI’s Executive Group and wider organisation further the credibility, importance and effectiveness of marketing to the reputation and economy of the Charity.
•Developing horizons scanning activities and share the analysis and recommendations cross organisation to inspire new ideas and opportunities
•Create compelling marketing and influence campaigns working with the digital and press teams
•Ghost writing for our Exec team, helping them articulate the services we offer to key stakeholders

Policy:
•Investigate the influence of current and future government policy on RBLI and, based on these findings, develop strategies and campaigns that enable RBLI to fulfil its organisational objectives.

Personal Attributes:
•Dynamic personality, you will have bags of initiative so you will bring creative ideas and novel approaches and be great at ‘opportunity spotting’.
•You will have a passion for detail, ‘right first time’, strong attention to detail.
•Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
•Strong organisational skills with a fastidious approach to project management and the ability to thrive in an environment that works to deadlines.
•Proactive about information gathering, you will have a natural curiosity and desire to gather the best facts, case studies, and evidence, to create your campaigns
•Commercial awareness and acumen.
•Can do attitude and willing to participate in all tasks.
•A strong team player is required, however as the duties will be varied and challenging, you must also be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work independently on own initiative without undermining the team dynamics.
•A willingness and positive attitude towards flexibility and adaptability in work, including travel to other delivery sites when appropriate.

Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
•Proven strategy, research and problem-solving skills.
•Outstanding writing skills
•Strong proven project management and planning skills and coordination of a number of stakeholders and simultaneous projects in sometimes complex relationships and to multiple deadlines
•Experience working on multiple brands, or multiple campaigns, simultaneously and delivering results across all
•Demonstrable knowledge of the critical factors that make influencing campaigns effective
•Experience in developing and delivering policy and advocacy campaigns with measurable impacts
•Experience briefing and reporting on marketing or policy campaigns with senior stakeholders including Board Members and Campaign Sponsors
•Experience managing suppliers across all marketing disciplines including engaging and managing agencies to deliver agreed activity and desired results
•High standard of computer literacy

Desirable:
•Up to date knowledge of the employment, disability and social enterprise markets
•Degree/HND in marketing, communications, business management or related subject.
•Additional marketing qualifications in specific marketing disciplines
•Experience organising stakeholder engagement and influencing events for campaigns
•Experience managing senior stakeholders and planning their networking activity to progress campaigns
•Experience working in a policy or advocacy role promoting the interests of serving personnel, veterans of the Armed Forces, long term unemployed people, children or adults with disabilities in the UK.
