Do you have expertise in quality assurance and a passion for continuously enhancing standards? Are you adept at working collaboratively, ensuring compliance and driving forward improvements; skills which you could put to use to help make the student experience at the new Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) the best it can be?
You will join the growing KMMS professional services team, liaising regularly with academic and support staff as well as central departments at Canterbury Christ Church University and the University of Kent, students and external partners such as the NHS and the GMC (General Medical Council). Your skills at relationship-building and negotiating will therefore be key as you lead on establishing the quality control and governance systems for the Medical School’s programmes of study.
As Quality Manager you will:
- provide leadership in defining the standards for quality control processes and governance systems
- undertake the operational management and monitoring of clinical placements, including feedback mechanisms, to ensure outstanding student experience
- ensure the quality assurance and enhancement at KMMS supports a cycle of continuous improvement, leading the implementation of any changes identified
To be successful in this role you will need:
- experience of quality assurance and enhancement issues within a higher education or NHS environment
- experience of working with professional and statutory regulatory bodies and other external agencies
- the ability to produce, record and analyse data and assess complex information and make recommendations for action
- excellent inter-personal and communication skills, including the ability to handle negotiations with a range of people at all levels
Our vision for KMMS is to create a new medical school for Kent and Medway that becomes a beacon for first-class medical education and research. The School will attract the most talented aspiring doctors from within the local community and beyond, offering training and development opportunities that will help to keep that talent in Kent and Medway. Lead by its Founding Dean, Professor Chris Holland, the School will open in September 2020, offering 100 undergraduate medical places on a yearly basis.
