This is an exciting opportunity to work for a leading Kent Legal firm. The Herne Bay team are expanding and require an experienced lawyer (Solicitor or FILEx).

Main Responsibilities:
• Assist the practice in meeting its professional obligations and business viability
• Provide a range of family legal services, including pre-marital advice, cohabitation, divorce/separation, financial settlement including Schedule 1 Children Act claims, private children and injunctive proceedings
• Provide clear and comprehensive advice to clients and to progress their case smoothly to conclusion
• Ensure that the advice given is accurate and comprehensive and that all advice provided is clearly recorded on the file
• Ensure that the conduct of client files is in accordance with all internal, professional conduct and accounts rules and obligations
• Play an active role in sustaining and developing the family department by networking and participating in marketing events
• Continual updating of legal knowledge by regularly reading professional publications, contributing family articles and producing topical contributions for use in the firm’s social media
• Be a member of Resolution, preferably a mediator, be collaboratively trained and/or have specialist family accreditation(s)


Key Skills and Experience:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in family law
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Good organisational and multitasking abilities
• Must be skilled in negotiation, debate and persuasion techniques
