Would you like to be part of a dynamic, developing and supportive team, committed to supporting the needs of Carers?
We are looking for Carer Support Coordinator in Mental Health to work across East Kent, based in Aylesham and also travelling to our coastal office in Deal.
Our Charity provides a valuable and essential service in East Kent to people who find themselves in a caring role for a friend, neighbour or family member, who may be suffering from physical or mental illness, addiction or disability.
Our well established Charity has been supporting Carers for 17 years. As an organisation we are continually developing our service as we strive to meet the needs of an increasing population of Carers.
We are continuing to expand our team of Carer Support Coordinators and are seeking individuals who understand the needs of unpaid Carers and the challenges they face. If you would like to work as part of a team offering information and support to those who care (unpaid) for a relative, friend or neighbour, who otherwise could not manage due to physical or mental illness, addiction or disability we would like to hear from you.
You will work as part of a team providing information to Carers, offering support through regular contact, delivering a range of support groups, activities and events for Carers and undertaking Statutory Carer’s Assessments (training provided). It is crucial that Carers receive the right information and support at the right time and that this not only helps them in their caring role, but focuses on their own needs and wellbeing. As part of your support role you will be required to regularly liaise with professionals from Health, Social Care and the Voluntary Sector connecting Carers with appropriate services.
You will also be required to raise awareness of the needs of Carers and our service as part of the role.
We are committed to providing consistently high quality services to Carers, and to reaching Carers who may face particular problems in finding the help they need to carry on Caring.
A full driving license and your own transport are essential.
For an application pack, please email: recruitment@carers-doverdistrict.org
CV’s will not be considered.
Closing date for returned applications: Monday 17th June 2019 at 12pm.
If your application is successful, you will be contacted to arrange a telephone interview on Thursday 20th June 2019 in the first instance. If you are successful at this stage, then you will go forward to a face to face interview on Tuesday 2nd July at: Carers’ Support East Kent, 80 Middle Street, Deal CT14 6HL
We may need to add additional interview dates if we receive a high level of interest.
If you have not heard from us by 19th June 2019 then you have not been selected for an interview.
