Job Description: Fundraising Officer

Reports to: Fundraising Manager

Hours: 20 hours per week

Salary: up to £20,000 FTE, pro-rata for part-time hours, dependent upon experience

Holiday entitlement: 22 days plus 8 public holidays, there are 3 additional discretionary days given between Christmas and New Year pro-rata for part-time hours

Place of work: Salford House, 19-21 Quarry Hill Road, Tonbridge, Kent, TN9 2RN

Job Purpose:

The Fundraising Officer is responsible for working with the Fundraising Manager, identifying and maximising all income generating opportunities for Tree of Hope and its beneficiaries and meeting budgeted targets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To assist with the planning, administration and smooth running of all fundraising events which could include some evening and weekend working.

• To help with the planning and administration of any challenge events, discussing these with participants and offering support and advice.

• Speaking to potential donors about the work of Tree of Hope and encouraging them to support our cause.

• Speaking with our Family Fundraisers, offering support, advice and encouragement around their fundraising campaigns.

• Assistance with developing presentations and marketing materials for the fundraising department.

• Research into Trusts and Foundations that may support unrestricted fundraising when asked.

• Development of a suite of fundraising products that could be used by all types of supporters.

• Administration of the Tree of Hope lottery scheme.

• Management of the relationship with our clothes collector, SOS clothing.


Person Specification

• Strong written and verbal presentation and communication ability

• Good organiser and time manager with CRM and IT expertise

• Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and networking skills

• Ability to meet fundraising deadlines, targets and budgets.

• Self-motivated team player

• Full driving licence and access to car

• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required to support fundraising activity
