What you will do:
Maintain the integrity of all computer workstations and servers and associated software within the two office buildings in Camden and Rochester, and for our remote staff. Please note that if you are based in the Rochester office you will need to spend 1 day a week in the London office: if located in London office, you will need to spend one day a week in the Rochester office.
Act as the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues and will be assisting as 3rd line support on IT and networking issues with our clients.
Continuously work to identify opportunities to improve our service levels and productivity, while working with the USA corporate IT team to ensure alignment with corporate standards.
Provide 99.5% availability IT infrastructure for Octave Group UK and supported staff with IT assistance.
Assist personnel with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone
Assist employees with computer problems and answer their questions
Conduct daily network and server backup operations
Provide 3rd line support for all players and IT infrastructure recommendations for product support on customer networks.
Continuously work to identify opportunities to improve our service levels and productivity, while working with the USA corporate IT team to ensure alignment with corporate standards.
What you will need:
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent training/experience
3+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
2+ years’ experience on current network operating systems
Strong understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
A strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required
And experience with:
Microsoft server environment e.g., Microsoft Domain management, Microsoft Server 2012 and greater, Microsoft SQL 2012 – 16 Networking
Cisco networking, ASA Firewall,
Configuration of Switch and vlan’s,
Network trouble shooting, Meraki WiFiBuild,
Maintaining and managing Linux servers including Ubuntu Linux, Linux scripting
MYSQL configuration and management Database knowledge is essential.
Dell server and SAN hardware configuration and management
VMware vSphere configuration and management
Mac OS and Windows 7 & 10 support experience
Salesforce.com or CRM application preferred.
