Fuse Rail Ltd is a family business based at Shearway Business Park, Folkestone that provides electrical and mechanical engineering services including design, installation and maintenance to the rail industry.

We are seeking to appoint someone to join the finance team who will be responsible for the purchase ordering system and the purchase ledger. You will also administer the Approved Supplier Process for which training will be given.

You will have at least 3 years demonstrable relevant experience dealing with the initial purchase order, matching delivery notes, coding invoices through to the final payment to suppliers. A working knowledge of Sage Accounts as well as strong numerical skills and accuracy with data processing are essential.

Principal Responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate and efficient purchase ordering system using Sage 50 Accounts and Excel.
• Match delivery notes to purchase orders, clearly identifying any incomplete orders, raising queries with relevant staff or suppliers.
• Process all purchase invoices by matching to delivery notes / purchase orders, coding and posting.
• Ensure all purchase invoices are authorised in accordance with Delegated Financial Authorities.
• Ensure VAT is correctly recovered.
• Reconcile supplier statements.
• Ensure the timely and accurate payment of invoices and expenses adhering to supplier credit terms.
• Work with the SHEQ Manager to operate an efficient Approved Supplier Process.


This is a rewarding and varied full-time position within a small finance team which will develop you and your other accounting skills.

£ 18k - £22k per annum (8.30am – 5pm, however part time hours / flexibility can be considered)
