An exciting new instruction for a Project Manager with a global manufacturing client, which is being presented on a maternity cover basis, with an end date of 31st December 2019. The role is placed within the Research & Development Project Management Office.
What is the ideal background we are seeking for this position?
The ideal background we are looking for in an individual, would be manufacturing, supply chain or even Research & Development. Please note this is not suitable for candidates with an IT or Construction background.
What will the Project Manager be responsible for?
The Project Manager will have responsibility for operational task management of the project teams that you manage, but with no direct line management responsibilities.
However, in order to be successful, you need to manage the team effectively in terms of:
Demonstrating good communication with team members
Effective team building your inter-colleague relationships
Skills & Knowledge required in order to meet the challenges of the role:
Proven experience in Innovation and development projects, particularly within the FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) sector to achieve successful project outcomes.
Ability to manage complex cross functional projects.
Experience in managing and mitigating risk.
Project Management: an external certification (ie. IPMA, APM, PMI, Pronce2) preferable and experience with MS Project essential.
Bias for Action, with a professional and positive approach.
The ability to cope with pressure, assertiveness and adaptability.
The main focus of the role:
To achieve the company objectives for organic growth, it is important that the NPD New Product Development) is effectively and efficiently delivered on time, in full and on cost.
The role involves the professional project management of new product launches and product changes for a portfolio of projects determined via a Stage Gate process.
The Project Manager will lead cross functional teams in Europe and other international client organisations and will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects from initial feasibility, through to launch implementation.
The Project Manager will also include management of R & D and Supply Chain projects across the company European organisation.
Responsibilities of the Project Manager will also include. but not limited to:
Driving project “on time, in full and on cost”.
Project leadership for a portfolio of projects across several company brands.
Facilitate the definition of project goals, objectives, scope, milestones and deliverables.
Ensure full feasibility analysis (technical and business assessment) are conducted to include all aspects of the project (not just cost).
Definition of project tasks and resource requirements within the project team and resource management
Develop the full scale schedule and subsequent management of the project against that schedule.
Languages/Other:
English fluency essential with French language skills an advantage.
Driving licence.
Very occasional travel to France.
Hours of work:
37 hours per week
Salary depending on experience.
