A fast-growing cloud accountancy practice is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their remote team. The practice is 100% online and paperless, so applicants must be experienced using Xero and Quickbooks.

The ideal candidate will have more than 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice, working on a variety of clients in multiple sectors.

Job responsibilities will include:
• Statutory accounts production to manager review
• Personal and corporate tax compliance
• Bookkeeping tasks including VAT returns, CIS returns, payroll and account reconciliation
• Preparation of self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships & LLPs
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and associated journals
• New client sign-ups and retrospective bookkeeping
• Supporting team members with guidance and advice
• Assisting Finance Directors with ad hoc tasks as required
• Management of purchase ledger clerks and junior bookkeepers

About you and your experience:
• AAT Level 4 qualified or equivalent experience
• Experience using Xero and Quickbooks; other online accounting software knowledge is a plus
• 3+ years working in practice, juggling many different clients at one time
• Excited to be part of a modern, vibrant accountancy practice with lots of opportunity for growth
• Ability to work independently and manage your own time
• Exceptional written and verbal English
• Reside and have the legal right to work in the UK
