Working for a leading manufacturer in the fresh foods market, specialising in developing private label products for top global grocery retailers and well known international foodservice operators.

Role Purpose:

Working as part of the line team you will be responsible for providing support to the Team Leader by ensuring the effective operation of the line equipment whilst independently generating ideas to improve performance in your work area.


Key responsibilities include:

• Complete necessary line/equipment/process checks and documentation
• Liaise with Team Manager, Team Leader, Line Leader and Factory Operatives regarding production material supply issues
• Constructively challenge performance of the line
• Coordinate changeovers ensuring each member of the team knows and executes their role effectively
• Manage full operation of bagging lines (start-up checks, basic maintenance and fault finding)
• Co-ordination of line productivity
• Conduct all Operative job duties in order to observe any mechanical production concerns
• Perform quality checks on date coding, packaging and labelling
• Metal detection and completion of physical test paperwork
• Actively liaise with Engineering Department to remove performance barriers


Skills, know-how and experience required:

• Mechanical aptitude and fully numerate
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of the drivers of line/equipment/process performance
• Good understanding of food safety principles and application
• Structured approach to problem solving
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate desirable
• Manual Handling Trained preferred
