Mission Care has had the privilege of providing residential and nursing care to vulnerable adults in South London for over 110 years. Today we have five homes, four in the London Borough of Bromley, and one in Southwark and pride ourselves on providing exceptional person-centred care to all of our residents.
We now have exciting opportunities for a Senior Care Assistants to join our team.
Summary of duties:
Ensure that a high standard of care is provided and maintained by supervising the work of Care Assistants and supporting residents in all aspects of their care and daily living, including physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
Take a lead in assisting Clinical Staff in care planning and maintaining continuity of care.
Participate in providing a stimulating environment for residents.
Maintain high standards leading by example
Demonstrate positive interactions with residents ,use of name and explaining actions
Participate in providing a stimulating environment for residents.
Promote holistic care for residents
Assist in bathing and dressing of residents respecting dignity
Assist residents at meal times
Knowledge of manual handling / correct use of hoists
Demonstrate a clear understanding of SOVA
Provide a high standard of customer service and care to relatives of residents.
Build effective relationships with relatives in order to support the delivery of high quality care to residents.
To be considered for this post, you will need to have an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and a Care Certificate. Previous experience working in a nursing home environment with an understanding of dementia is also beneficial. Above all, a positive, can-do attitude is essential.
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will have a genuine passion and desire to work with the elderly and those living with dementia. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be person-centred in your approach to residents
