An exciting opportunity for the right person to become part of a market-leading events, publishing and communications company.

OUR COMPANY AND THE JOB

In addition to our current portfolio of products, which includes national exhibitions and regular publications, we are working on the launch of several new projects and are looking for a bright and enthusiastic person to join our team.

We are based on the Kent/Sussex border but have a very high national profile and our projects will offer great scope for your own personal development.

This role will bring you in to contact with a wide range of characters from Chief Executives to HR professionals and from social workers to advertising agencies, so the successful applicant will need to be confident in dealing with all types of personalities - both on the telephone and face-to-face.

An important aspect of the role will be building on our current exhibition stand sales and the advertising we carry in our publications. However, our history of successful project delivery and excellent working relationships with current clients, many of whom are in the public sector, means that we are constantly being asked to work on new projects for them. We would like to add to our team to help achieve this.

We like to think that we offer something different as a company, so try to avoid the usual clichés that you find in job advertisements, however it is essential that you are comfortable working in a team, sometimes under guidance and sometimes under your own initiative and with the self-knowledge to work out which is most appropriate at any time.

IS THIS THE RIGHT ROLE FOR YOU – AND ARE YOU THE RIGHT PERSON FOR US?
The right personality is more important than anything on your cv but you will still need to convince us that you will be able to succeed in this position.

You will need a good telephone manner, an active mind and the desire to contribute personally to the company's ongoing success.
As well as managing your own portfolio of our current clients you will also need to be able to source new business and develop new relationships. As we develop new projects the ability to be imaginative and flexible will also be an asset in both your own personal development and that of the company.

In addition to being confident in making sales calls and sharing product information on the telephone you will also be expected to attend events, undertake client meetings and make presentations to potential and current clients. Evidence of any sales and marketing abilities would help your application.

After initial training, equipping you with knowledge of our products, services and markets, you will be expected to manage and take responsibility for your own daily work schedule and achievements of targets while working alongside colleagues on similar projects.
