Production Technician

Hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday with half an hour for lunch and a morning and afternoon break. Friday 8am to 1pm. This equates to a 39 hour week. Full time and permanent. Eligible to join the pension scheme after a period of time. Overtime is potentially available but it is optional.

Salary:

Compulsory National Living Wage was introduced in April 2016. This was increased in April to £7.83 per hour for all working people aged 25 and over. This will be over and above the National Minimum Wage of £7.38 which will remain in place for those aged 21 – 24 and £5.90 for those aged 18 - 20

Our Client based in Crayford, Kent is an Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) or Contract Electronic manufacturing (CEM) company, focusing upon the design and manufacture of advanced electronic assemblies including Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s) for customers operating in a wide range of markets located in the UK and overseas.

We are currently looking for highly skilled Production Technicians with a good level of manual dexterity to manufacture electronic assemblies including PCB’s to a skilled, high quality level, primarily through using the mascot tables and preforming parts but also through tasks within the main responsibilities section below.

Experience and Requirements:

General standard of education required with a high level of common sense.
GCSE Grades C & above in Maths and English.
Physically fit and able
Experience within an electronic manufacturing environment – not essential but preferred.
Placing fiddly small parts onto circuit boards so manual dexterity (good with working with your hands) is essential
A high quality level of experience using hand and machine soldering equipment
Main Responsibilities:

To be aware of company health and safety requirements.
To understand and implement necessary anti-static precautions.
To be competent in building PCB’s up to flow solder stage, either by use of mascot tables or by hand.
To be competent in preforming parts, either by use of machinery or by hand.
To be competent in operating the PCB cropping machine prior to flow soldering.
To be able to operate the flow solder machine at a basic level.
To be fully competent in all areas of hand soldering techniques.
To understand manufacturing documents and follow specific instructions.
To follow instructions as indicated on BOM and route cards and customer drawings.
To understand IPC (best practice) standards with regard to own area.
