Summary



The Job holder will be responsible for the safety checks, hygiene compliance and maintenance of all machines on site along with maintenance duties on site.



Job holder reports to Production Manager



This role has line management responsibility for senior machine minders and jointly with production supervisors for machine operators



Responsibilities,

activities and duties













The Job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:



* Responsible to ensure that the Health and Safety manager and Production manager are informed of any risks to health & safety and Production.

* Accountable for the completion of compliance and hygiene checks on site relating to machinery and site maintenance.

* Accountable for the safety, training and efficiency of the direct reports.

* Responsible for racking inspections and supporting documents.

* Accountable for the planning and execution of the Preventive Maintenance Schedule.

* Lease with Production Manager regarding preventative maintenance tasks that require out sourcing.

* Responsible for staying within the allocated maintenance budget.

* Accountable for the competitiveness of quotes obtained for any out sourced work. Completes the capex form and presents to the Production or Health & Safety manager.

* Point of contact for all machinery / maintenance visits on site.

* Responsible for ensuring all appropriate compliance / health & safety documents are completed and submitted for filing

* Work closely with the efficiency and training manager to ensure all direct reports are compliant and in ensure the improvement is achieved.

* Responsible and accountable for own time management and that of the department.

* Innovative suggestions and lean implementation to ensure the business continues to grow profitability.

* Responsible to ensure all staff comply with Health & safety. Hygiene and PPE regulations.

Minimum eligibility



* Good supervisory or management skills with an on-site team of diverse skills

* Good level of maintenance/ general handy man skills.

* Motivated, confident, able to interact with a variety of people (client?s staff and visitors)

* Presentable with good levels of spoken and written English

* Fully flexible to meet business needs

* Good level of written and spoken English numeracy and literacy

* IT literate : conversant with Microsoft office applications







Essential skills/Qualifications



* Qualified in a trade: Electrical, Mechanical, or Engineering to NVQ Level 2 and above

* Hold relevant Health & Safety Training

* IOSHH Beneficial

* Full UK Drivers Licence

* 2+ Years in a supervisory capacity
