Full time Temporary role
Full Manual Driving licence required.
Based on a minimum of 39 hours per week. Monday to Friday £13.75 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay.

Overview of the position:

As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit Driving Escorts for Swaleside Prison, located in Eastchurch, Kent. Based on a minimum of 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm daily.

Purpose of the Driving Escort role:

To drive inmates and prison guard to external hospital appointments in the South East. Wait during appointments and return to the prison. A vehicle will be provided, general maintenance of the vehicle will be required and you will be given a fuel card.
Kent Prisons have an excellent reputation as busy local prisons, which serve all the courts in the South East. They pride themselves in engaging and involving employees working alongside them in the process of change.

Experience:
Not necessary. The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills.

Security Clearance required:
All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure which can take up to 4 to 6 weeks. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 3 years of references, at least one from an ex-employer.
