This role is not for the faint hearted!

This is a rare opportunity to work in an accountancy practice where you will learn valued skills and/or work towards highly regarded professional qualifications establishing a long-term career.

Within our bookkeeping team you will assist in the day to day bookkeeping for a broad range of businesses including construction companies and IT businesses. Eventually you will move on to assist business owners in the preparation of management accounts and helping them to understand their financial data.

The successful candidate will receive ongoing training both internally and with external training providers. We will initially be looking for you to achieve the AAT qualification.

Our minimum requirements are five GCSEs including grade A at Mathematics and grade B at English or equivalents. Ideally you will also have three A levels or equivalent. You may also already have achieved or be working towards your AAT qualification. A driving license and your own car is essential as we will require you to carry out client visits in due course. Please ensure you include full details of grades and examinations in your application.

This is a trainee role and wages will reflect this fact. We do not expect you to have relevant experience in accountancy or bookkeeping. What we are looking for is a passion to help people, great numeracy and speed and willingness to learn. Salary levels will be dependent on the level at which you join. If you are a school leaver we would be looking at you joining our apprenticeship scheme. If you are looking at a career change or are a university graduate we will be looking at salary levels starting at the national minimum wage plus fully funded training. If you have achieved the AAT qualification but have no relevant experience then we would be starting you on £26,000 pa.

In addition after three months you will be able to join the company's pension scheme. We contribute a further 3% as an employer pension contribution if matched by the employee.
