Our client who is an Insurance Broker is looking for a Claims Handler to join their expanding Claims team in the Essex office. The purpose of the role is to handle a caseload of Commercial Claims from start to finish.



Main Duties:

* Handling claims from inception through to settlement
* Taking notifications of claims dealing with the query as appropriate and gathering relevant information from the customer and entering it into the Company computer systems, as appropriate

* Answer the telephone in a polite and professional manner

* Having a thorough understanding of policy wordings enabling sound and knowledgeable advice to be given to clients.
* Analysing a claim made by a policy maker
* Guiding policyholders on how to proceed with the claim
* Contacting third party services as and when required.
* Ability to recognise a potentially fraudulent claim and understanding the process to follow

* Ensuring fair settlement of a claim and understanding cases where full payment may not be made.

* Recognise if the customer call / query needs to be passed to a senior member of the team to advise or resolve.
* Ensure that any customer complaints are identified and handled strictly



Essential Skills Required:

* Previous experience within a similar Claims role
* Good knowledge of Commercial Insurance risks

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Confident with all relevant MS office packages



Desirable:

* Good organisation skills
* Use of Open GI

* High attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Salary between £30,000 - £35,000
