An opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter looking to take the next step in their career or a more experienced Underwriter seeking new challenges in a fresh environment.

The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic and team-orientated environment within an establish insurance company.



Overview

* Responsible for trading, underwriting and service activities, the objective of this role is to offer consistent quality service to customers, deliver satisfactory and profitable results for the company, and develop good business relationships with a network of broker partners.
* Develop good business relationship with new and existing brokers.
* Underwrite commercial combined/SME risks within the Broker Business team. This includes quoting new business and underwriting existing business (MTAs and renewals).
* Responsible for managing and serving a panel of assigned broker accounts.
* Negotiate pricing and terms with brokers in line with Underwriting Authority.
* Ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to brokers.
* Visit brokers as required to develop business and maintain existing book / cross-selling company's products.
* Produce reports for provide accurate analysis.



What you need to show …

* Experiences in a UK SME commercial insurance underwriting environment from an insurer or MGA.
* Assistant Underwriters or full Underwriters can be considered.
* Knowledge of relevant regulatory practices and legislations in the industry.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good time management skills to meet deadlines.
* Good communications and negotiation skills.
* Certificate in insurance (Cert CII) , preferred
