Finance Analyst | North Kent/Hybrid | £35k - £45k
Our client a growing FMCG business based in the North Kent area are looking to recruit a Finance Analyst. You will be working within the commercial team and looking for someone commercial with strong interpersonal skills and the ability/confidence to challenge both finance and non-finance people with excellent Excel skills. Any FMCG and/or gross margin product based and/or production experience would be a real benefit. The main focus of the role will be to provide support and analysis for margins, costs and provide a foundation for forward planning.
Main role responsibilities
• Support weekly financial reporting process (covering when required)
• Providing analysis & commentary for Management Account Packs
• Own product costings (EPD & NPD), providing feedback and support to the Commercial Team and keeping models up to date with latest assumptions
• Monthly and quarterly commercial reporting to the business on trading performance (PBS)
• Managing 3 months & full year sales forecasts
• Monitor costs within the business, recommending and tracking CPIs where required
• Undertake pre and post promotional analysis
• Key role for budgets, reforecasts and Year-end activities (owning 5yr P&L, commercial, packaging budget, transport budget)
• Support cross-functional reporting and projects
• Support and deliver cross-functional training (Excel)
• Key partner for one department (Commercial but TBC)
• Ad-hoc projects/analysis
Skills required
• Minimum PQ CIMA or ACCA, ideally final stage or newly qualified CIMA/ACCA
• Recent experience within a Finance Analyst, Business Partnering or similar role
• Experience of an industry focused on gross margins (desirable)
• Attention to detail and analytical skills. Accustomed to working with, interpreting and presenting data
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, reporting and analysis experience with high level of attention to detail
• Demonstration of strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with key stakeholders across all functions
• Proven time management skills: Accustomed to working with and meeting time critical deadlines and an ability to prioritise workload
• IT skills – advanced Excel skills (vlookups, sumifs, Pivot tables, etc., VBA desirable). Proficient with Word and Microsoft Outlook. Experience of Power BI (desirable)
