Financial Analyst / Cost Accountant - 9m FTC

£50000 to £65000 per annum

Kent

Goldhawk Associates Ltd

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Financial Analyst / Modeller / Cost Accountant to join a Kent based business and make a real commercial and strategic difference on an existing project on a 9-month Fixed Term Contract. Your role will be to take a lead on a substantial volume-based project, with fixed and variable cost elements with a number of different payment streams.

The role:
- Establish a framework to analyse the cost drivers for the payments events to appropriately allocate costs.
- Propose appropriate methods for allocation of payroll costs that does not require significant workforce planning/time keeping exercises.
- Compare original funding model by payment event with the current operations and costings to identify and analyse differences.
- Scenario plan and suggest new funding models for 2 key subcontractors based on an understanding of their operations and volumes and how they are reflected in the relevant contracts.
- Substantiate differences to pursue commercial discussions with the relevant stakeholders.
- Establish the process for a working group across Commercial, Data, Finance & Operations that can review and maintain this on a periodic basis.
- Use the above to potentially introduce new payment events with a robust process for their costing and the impact on the rest of the contract.
- Introduce new frameworks that should be conceptually understandable by Finance & Operations to ensure they can be maintained for future changes.
- Funding model needs to be able to approximate key drivers without spending unnecessary time going into its inner workings. As such, the model and framework need to be broad enough to not have to be revisited regularly.
- The service needs to substantiate cost allocation methods (direct and indirect) that can be scrutinised by various committees.
- Analyse of work patterns for cost allocation may also identify areas that are not covered by payment events and hence lead to further commercial discussions.

About you:
You will need to be an accomplished Financial Analyst / Cost Accountant with strong verbal and technical expertise to deliver on a complex and date heavy project. Prior experience of undertaking a similar exercise within a complex business would be advantageous.

A pro-rata salary of between £50,000 and £65,000 is on offer dependant on experience. The role will have remote and flexible working options available. #J11501
