Permanent position

41 hours per week. All year round.

Hays are working with a unique residential special school (registered as a children's home) situated in East Kent. This residential school supports children and young people with severe intellectual disabilities who are on the autistic spectrum continuum. Many of their young people have associated communication difficulties and emotional/behavioural challenges associated with their complex disabilities and medical conditions.

As the Ofsted Registered Manager your duties will be.
Duties include:

* To be the OFSTED Registered Manager to deliver services which are fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements in relation to The Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015.
* To be responsible for the effective development and delivery of high-quality residential services to young people and their families.
* Lead and manage a team, ensuring that team members work effectively with young people, families, and all internal and partner agencies.
* To be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of an OFSTED regulated Children's Home.
* To ensure the highest standards of emotional, social and physical care, promoting the best outcomes for young people through research, development and partnership to formulate and monitor placement & care planning.
* To take overall responsibility for all regulatory requirements associated with Ofsted registration and the home's Statement of Purpose.

For this post you will need to be willing to commit to obtaining the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (if not already obtained).

Person Specification

* Four Years working with children/people with severe learning difficulties and/or autism, or with other children/people in a residential setting OR Two years as above, plus the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
* .To be responsible for establishing and monitoring quality assurance, compliance with Ofsted requirements, and internal and external monitoring arrangements, including Reg 44 & 45 monitoring
* To ensure that the health needs of young people are assessed and provided for, maintaining effective working partnerships with health professionals.
* Work as a member of the Senior Management team to consider and manage staffing costs, staffing structures and rotas, ensuring they meet the requirements of the young people.
* To ensure leadership and management of staff, including Performance Management, regular individual supervision, induction, professional development, welfare, and support mechanisms, in accordance with the Supervision Policy, and ensuring that staff are motivated to achieve the vision and mission of the organisation.
* To undertake regular CPD to translate and update practice, policies, and Statement of Purpose.
* Ensure that all safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures are adhered to within the home.
