Job Title: Management / Cost Accountant

Location: Ashford

Our client is currently seeking a proactive Cost Accountant to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role has been introduced due to an increased focus on the comprehensive analysis of production costs, encompassing the entire manufacturing process as well as the supply chain.

The Role:

As a Cost Accountant, you will be primarily factory-based, working in close collaboration with the Production and Operations management teams. Your main responsibility will be to meticulously review and challenge all cost components throughout the manufacturing process. An ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced factory environment and excel at forging productive working relationships. The role also involves direct engagement in the costing and pricing of new products and safeguarding profit margins.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct an exhaustive review of all Production Processes to establish cost standards
- Analyse Operational data and derive actionable insights
- Carry out Daily / Weekly Variance Reviews with Operations and Analysis
- Cost new products in cooperation with operations and sales departments
- Assist in implementing robust Warehouse Management Systems / Stock Controls
- Undertake any additional project work as required by Operations and Finance

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in the manufacturing industry
- Prior experience in product costing, warehousing & supply chain environments
- A graduate with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Studying towards or fully/partly qualified CIMA / ACCA would be advantageous
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
