Goldhawk Associates are working with a reputable firm of accountants who are looking to appoint a Trust Senior to their team. This role is based in London and they are looking ideally for a part-qualified ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA accountant with previous experience of working with a varied client base. Your role will be to work to support your allocated portfolio of trust clients. The team currently provides a service for approximately 300+ Trusts; probates; estates; small private charities; individual clients and their families and family office type administrative services.

You will liaise with the other members of the London Trust Team, and other departments such as Personal Tax together with interaction with your clients, HMRC, solicitors, stockbrokers, and any other professional bodies. You need to be a self starter and be able to self-manage your time and use your initiative.

Responsibilities:

Preparation of client trust, estates, and & probate work (generally returns and accounts)
- Preparation of IHT and CGT forms as required
- Advise clients on Trust wind up, income distributions, and management of tax payments
- Monitor work progress on allocated tasks and update job workflow
- Be aware of the budget and notify more senior team members if a task is taking longer than
expected
- Monitor work progress and ensure appropriate levels of communication with all clients and colleagues on progress for each key task
- Identify where internal procedures/systems could be more efficient, relay this to more senior colleagues and assist with implementing changes
- Developing trust, estate, and probate tax technical skills and keeping up to date through
training courses, appropriate research, and identification of changes in legislation, HMRC policy, and as a result of cases.
- Ensure registration of trusts with the TRS (new and existing) including appropriate client ID documents
- Support the trust team in delivering the required departmental incremental fee target

They are looking for someone who can demonstrate 1-3 years of previous experience of working in trust work. If you have STEP membership or are keen to study for this a full study package will be provided. Probate and estate experience are not essential, as training will be given.

You will be a Part -Qualified ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA accountant with previous management experience. Hold STEP membership or willing to study for the qualification.
