An urgent temporary opening has become available for a Community Development Officer in order to complete the remainder of a joint project which has been ongoing for a few months.

This is a public sector role and is essentially focused on engaging those in the community not currently in work or furthest away from the job market.

This position is ideal for someone who has previously worked in community programmes or in areas focused on training and employment, who has worked and understands partnership working

In essence, this position is all about working with partners (such as Job Centre Plus) to support this group of people in overcoming any barriers to learning and to get back into the workplace, enrolling them onto college courses that may support them, monitoring their progress and coaching individuals to succeed.

There will be a requirement to travel within the immediate district so own transport is required and mileage re-claim will be put in place,]
An immediate start is required working through the month of August initially, so this is absolutely ideal for someone perhaps between jobs themselves.
